Testing & Inspection

Legislation requires that electrical installations are maintained to a safe standard and must therefore be periodically inspected and tested.
Regulation of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 requires that:
As may be necessary to prevent danger, all systems shall be maintained so as to prevent, so far as is reasonably practicable, such dangers.
The frequency of periodic inspection and testing can be determined by:

  • The type of installation
  • Its use
  • The frequency and quality of maintenance
  • The external influences to which it is subjected

Sangallo’s qualified electrical engineers carry out testing and inspection in accordance with the British Standard 7671 and the Electricity at Work regulation. On completion of the test a comprehensive report is prepared as recommended in BS 7671 outliningthe following:

  • A description of the extent of the work, including the parts of the installation inspected and details of what the inspection and testing covered.
  • Any limitations that may have been imposed during the inspection and testing of the installation.
  • Details of any damage, deterioration, defects and dangerous conditions and any non-compliances with BS 7671 that may give rise to danger.
  • Schedule of inspections.
  • Schedule of test results.
